Greetings!
Well, new year maybe new me this time, writing more than every 6 months. Isn’t that what they say? I always get a burst to reinvigorate this blog at the start of a new year or in the summer months.
I’m looking forward to 2022 which will bring my graduation from high school and the start of a new chapter (however cheesy that may sound) of life, but I’m trying to balance this looking ahead with being present.
This reinitiation post is turning into rather a brain dump but, boy, it’s hard getting older. I’ll be turning 18 in 2022 as well, and I can’t help but have this pit of anticipated nostalgia in my stomach when I’m watching movies and shows. Will I one day watch these high school characters and no longer be younger then them? Yes. The answer is yes obviously, but with it comes a frenzy to rewatch and soak in having their experiences “ahead” of me. (Though were that may be true in say Gilmore Girls, it’s a figure of speech when considering Twilight)! Nonetheless, having an age ahead of you gives a certain mystique to films and scenes, where once one passes it there is more room for cynicism or feeling like you missed this crucial stage of adolescence. Just a thought!
Truly though, I think some of my worrying is overthinking. I still feel like a kid watching 11 year old Harry in the Sorcerers Stone. I think some of the magic one feels towards a movie is kept through the memory of watching it a first time.
With all of these musings, let me move on to some lighter excitements and favorites I have right now of 2022!
This Shrimps Sweater
I bought this sweater as a present for myself after the holidays! I’ve loved Shrimps but haven’t had the chance to own anything from them yet. I had been eyeing this sweater for a while, and with a new year came an end of season sale.
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts
Speaking of Harry Potter, I’m very excited to watch this reunion. It’s crazy how grown up all of the actors are! I just need to get HBO Max. I love how they do that.
Bridgerton Rewatch
I’ve decided January is the perfect month for my Bridgerton rewatch. A year out from when I originally watched the series, January needs something good about it, and having this show for a few weeks is defining something. I’m thinking of a doing a post on the general beauty of it soon!
Bows
I have been loving bows and all things frills for a little while now, and I hope that love continues I can’t wait to get my hands on this La Veste dress when it’s released.
That’s all for now, folks! Don’t worry, I’ll be back this time. I mean it.
